Long time, no post! It's May 2009!

Hi All :)

Wow, time flies! I told you all I was giving extra time and such for you to heal and be ready to work on a special memory book for Brian, Brady and Hailey... well... it's now feeling like time to wrap it up! The goal for any last entries will be Thursday, May 14th. I will plan to finish it up shortly after that so that it can be delivered to the family :)

Please feel free to contact me with any questions: kfunkcreates@sbcglobal.net

All details are listed below (see "For the Love of Robynn") and remember, the most important part is size - pages need to be 8 inches by 8 inches or smaller... or they won't fit!

Thank you to all of you who have submitted something!

No more deadline... no more stress... join us in Robynn's book project!

I have lifted the deadline on Robynn's book - this is a labor of love by all involved so let's focus on that instead of the WHEN it needs to be done by okay? Will touch base on progress soon :)

* Just remember - no larger than 8 inches by 8 inches please - or it won't fit :) * and yes, it's okay if it's more than one page *
Scroll down for full details.

Have a good weekend all!

More fun in the mailbox today! :)

Today I received envelopes from... April in Antelope, The Oxford Gang in Bakersfield AND Darcy (Hansen) Pecoraro!! This is getting to be like Christmas!!! All of the messages are so special - who will be next!!!?? Keep 'em coming and remember, if you're not quite ready, just keep me posted so I know, okay? Try to keep them 8 inches by 8 inches please so they'll fit, but so far they're all perfect!

(this way, you don't have to scroll down!)

Monday, January 5, 2009

Oh, I'm excited! The book is starting to come together!

Last time I wrote, I told you that we'd received such things as messages of how someone met Robynn and notes from children, but today we received more! They're starting to roll in, which is exciting! Today I had mail from Christine Booth (Bako Girl) AND Grandma Beverly (Hansen)! We all remember when Grandma Beverly brought her beautiful crafty items to the West Sac Blood Drive/Silent Auction right? Anyway, both envelopes had beautiful pictures included and very special messages for Brian, Brady and Hailey!

YOUR TURN!!! I have heard from a few of you that your "stuff" is in the works - thanks! If you haven't started yet, NO WORRIES. There is still time. Although the goal was to have everything collected by January 31st, I realize now that maybe it wasn't realistic... maybe I was pushing a little and it was just a little too soon and too sad for some of you. SO, if you haven't started but want to participate, please just drop me a little message and let me know, okay? We want everyone who wants to be a part of this to be included!

To those of you have already submitted something ~ thanks so much :)

With big smiles for Robynn =)
(That smile was how Robynn did them in her emails)

For the Love of Robynn ~

Wow. Did Robynn fight this year OR WHAT? I am in awe - totally and completely! The love of life that she showed all of us has inspired me to start a new project for the family - please join me in this!

"For the Love of Robynn" is a book that is going to be created with TLC by a few of the West Sac Girls. We are going to collect special messages, pix and the likes and compile them into a special collection for Brian, Brady and Hailey.

Here's how you can help make this EXTRA special :) Since we want to make this book filled with love (or even oozing with love!), we would love for you to provide a special message in your own handwriting. (I know, computers are sooo much easier!). OR at the very least (second choice)... computer printed but signed by you :)

We are looking for:
  • Special messages sharing what you loved about Robynn, why you'll miss her, what you learned from her, what cracked you up about her or whatever YOU would like to share with her sweet family.
  • Pictures. We'd love to have you include 1 or 2 (max) regular sized photos to go with YOUR message. A picture of Robynn would be great if you have one, but if you have a favorite of your family that you'd like to share that would be AOK too ~ we'll leave it up to you.
  • LOVE. Yes! The most important ingredient is that you write or create this with LOVE :)

Specifics. If you'd like to create a page yourself, kindly make it no larger than 8" by x 8". You may do that, or simply submit your few items and we will attach them to a page for you and of course add a little extra TLC (Simple, right?). There are no other rules! Black and white, colors, whatever you would like to use will be AOK with us. We will collect items for this project through January 31st and then put them all together to give to Brian and the kiddos for Valentine's Day. This will not be considered a surprise ~ so it's okay to bring it up. :)

Robynn and Brian family members... yes, this means you too! This is not only a great way to share the love but also a way to make you smile while you are healing as well :)

Please mail to:

Kim Funk, 3192 Bacon Island Street, West Sacramento, CA 95691 ~ questions or comments welcome at kfunkcreates@sbcglobal.net

* If you prefer to make a quick "porch delivery" ~ please send me a text so I can watch for it AND put it in a protective bag or large baggie - thanks :) - Text me at 916-834-8704 :)

A Sweet Robynn Poem by West Sac Girl Emilie Young :)

If Only For Today

If only for today I could see you smile
To treasure and to fill my heart
We have but each day to hold and cherish
When once there were so many more
All my troubles today
Seem so little

If only for today I could take it on
For you my friend I would
We have but each moment
To share how much we care
All the care you have shown
Will always shine on

If only for today we could all smile
To know that you are a friend
We have but each special memory
Where you have been a part

So hold on to that smile
Hold on to that heart
Hold on to those memories
If only for today

Keep up the good work everyone!

After hearing how wonderful the Mexico trip was, I couldn't resist changing our music! Our new opening song is one of my favorite kick back and let go of it all songs... Kenny Chesney's, "No shoes, no shirt, no problems". It's a good one - enjoy!

To see pictures of the Goodell Family trip to Mexico, visit Robynn's main blog at robynnsbattle.blogspot.com

Keep up the good work, via your prayers, positive thoughts and support :)

Got the itch to go shopping? We can help!

"Robynn's Ribbon" car magnets!
That's right Robynn fans! You've seen the pink ribbons for breast cancer and you've seen the yellow ribbons for those supporting our troops, and NOW Robynn has one of her own! They are ultra cute and chocolate brown in color (of course!) with "camel" polka dots! (Note, we couldn't just say brown and tan as that would be so uncool!) Take a little bit of Robynn with you wherever you go and at the steal of a deal price of $5.00 - you just can't lose! These magnets were lovingly designed with the help of West Sac Girl Dana Sloan and were purchased by Dana and "the girls" with all proceeds going to the Goodell Family. For more details, please contact Dana Sloan at mailto:danasloanrn@yahoo.comcom

Poker Event Tees!
You've seen those cool black poker event shirts shown on the blog and slideshow, and YOU want one too, right? Not a problem! There are still "t's" available in men's/unisex sizes of s, m, l and xl! Kirk Ekness (aka West Sac Girl Victoria's hubby) is seen here wearing a unisex large. Price is $20 and goes to the Goodell Family (of course!). To order, contact Kerrie kerrie@kerriemalone.com or Kristy kristy.ware@sbcglobal.net and get yours today!
Robynn Goodell Family Scrapbook!
"RG" has her scrapbook! A few of the West Sac Girls got to together on Friday and brought Robynn what had been completed "so far"... BUT don't feel left out! If you would like to create a page (or pages) for the family, then please do! Simply contact us when you're done. And if you have pictures that you think would be perfect for their book and aren't "crafty", then print them up and make contact! One of us will create the page for you.
So far there are pages on friends, family, holidays, birthdays, soccer, baseball, basketball, their doggie "Mousse", the beach, the Blood Drive, the Poker event, kindergarten for Hailey and third grade for Brady, ETC. If you have an idea, go for it! Questions? Send them to kfunkcreates@sbcglobal.net . In the works: a layout of West Sac Girl Denise Mayberry who just completed her own "little" Run for Robynn! Watch this spot for a photo soon!

Shown above: The "title page" in their album. :)
Thank you again Sarah and Helen, co-owners of the Scrapbook Addict, for the idea AND for purchasing the album cover that these pages went into! :)
